Annual Genetic Optimization Program

Why Do Genetic Testing and Optimization?

Purpose

DISCOVER genetic vulnerabilities in your body through proper laboratory testing and medical evaluation; CREATE a specific plan to prevent disease, improve quality of life, and promote longevity, RECEIVE the support you need to implement your individualized plan for life.

Benefits

  1. Learn what your predisposition is for a variety of diseases and conditions, from heart disease and cancer to osteoporosis and arthritis as well as allergies, toxicity, anxiety and adverse drug reactions
  2. You are seen for 4.5 total hours by a licensed Naturopathic Medical Doctor who develops your optimal health and prevention plan based on your genetic profile
  3. You feel and look your very best and optimize your health and well being
  4. You take proactive, individualized steps in preventing diseases from ever manifesting in your body

What is Included in the Program?

  • Comprehensive medical intake
  • All necessary genomic laboratory testing (see below for some of the testing options)
  • Interpretation of lab results
  • Development of comprehensive treatment plan based on lab results
  • Mid-year evaluation and review of progress including necessary adjustments
  • Unlimited support from your own Wellness Coach

Program Timeline

Initial Visit:
Comprehensive medical evaluation and intake, determination of appropriate genomic testing to undergo based on medical intake. You spend 1.5 hours with the Naturopathic Medical Doctor during this visit.

Visit 2 (review of findings and optimal health plan):
Review results of genomic testing and go over comprehensive plan, developed exclusively by Dr. Gina Nick, to optimize health based on genomic test results. You spend approximately 1 hour with your licensed Naturopathic Medical Doctor during this visit.

Visit 3:
This is your 6 month check up where we will evaluate your progress thus far and make necessary modification to your health plan. You will spend 1 hour with your licensed Naturopathic Medical Doctor during this visit.

Visit 4:
This is your 12 month medical visit to assess progress made over the year and to discuss options moving forward. You will spend approximately 1 hour with your licensed Naturopathic Medical Doctor during this visit.

Testing Available

Genomic testing for single nucleotide polymorphisms that provide insight into genetic tendencies, allowing for individualized intervention. Based on your medical intake and assessment, your licensed Naturopathic Medical Doctor will determine, with you, the appropriate genomic testing to undergo for the first year. Some of the options include:

Cardiovascular Genomic Profile

This test looks at your individualized genetic variations that reveal how your body modulates blood pressure regulation, lipid balance (cholesterol and triglycerides), nutrient metabolism, inflammation, and oxidative stress.

Immune System Genomic Profile

This test evaluates genetic variations in genes that modulate immune and inflammatory activity. These variations can affect balance between cell (Th-1) and humoral (Th-2) immunity, trigger potential defects in immune system defense, and stimulate mechanisms underlying chronic, overactive inflammatory responses.

Estro Genomic Profile

This test looks at your genetic profile and how your genes are coded for estrogen metabolism, blood coagulation (blood clot formation), cardiovascular disease, and osteoporosis.

Hormone Optimization

Optimizing your hormones will maximize the benefits of your genetic optimization plan. This involves comprehensive testing, evaluation and natural treatment of hormone imbalances including thyroid, estrogen, progesterone, DHEA, pregnenolone and testosterone. All of these benefits are part of the Hormone Optimization Program

FAQ

What is Genetic Testing?

By decoding nearly 40,000 genes in the human body, the Human Genome Project opened up an entirely new spectrum of knowledge, offering tremendous potential to improve health. Genetic testing offered through LTP Natural Medical Center harnesses the power of these insights.

Why is genetic testing an important aspect of my healthcare management?

By evaluating a carefully selected group of genetic variants, each genetic profile tested and evaluated at LTP Natural Medical Center provides a glimpse into your potential health future. The advantage to you is the empowerment to modify the expression of disease years before a condition might otherwise develop, thereby minimizing your potential risk.

What types of conditions can be tested for as part of this program?

Genetic testing can identify your predisposition for a variety of diseases and conditions, from heart disease and cancer to osteoporosis and arthritis as well as allergies, toxicity, anxiety and adverse drug reactions.

If I am born with genetic conditions how can something I do now fix these challenges?

Proper nutrition, hormone balance and lifestyle factors, that are individualized to who you are, can set you on a path that overcomes your genetic vulnerabilities, and maximizes the probability that your genetic tendencies towards disease are not expressed in your lifetime.
